I chose to do my links between Tashonda and Carolina. These two remixes really stuck close to what I wrote and both hit the heart. I related to both of their inspirations and strengths originating from their families, which is what I am all about. I really felt a connection in Carolina's when she expressed that it took everything she had to get to where she is today, which I can completely relate to my own life story. I honestly felt when reading both of these remixes that I could feel with each new word who they are and how they are standing here today. Both of the girls wrote the truth inside of them and I really was intrigued and amazed that not only they could write that deeply about who they are but they could make me feel what they felt so powerfully about who they are. When Tashonda wrote about the loss of her great-grandmother, it struck the core of my heart. My heart shattered the day I found out that my grandmother, who everyone called Nanny, had passed away. My nanny held an amazing piece of my heart and it was killed when I found out she had left me June 12, 2002, I have always believed in God and after traveling down dark roads I finally found solace in knowing that she left the earth to spend eternity in heaven, our ultimate home. I found that these two girls very effectively and powerfully showed who they are and what makes them so strong today in their remixes.
I also found Chris Hastings's song remix extremely well written, well phrased, and powerful.
