I would most definitely team up my Who remix with Rhetorical Knowledge. While remixing the Who song, our purpose was to inform the reader of who we are. The remix also had a certain form you should follow. The assignment was to take the song and remix it, but when you remixed it I believe a certain structure had to be followed. The song only makes sense with the music if the syllables add up for each line, which makes the assignment that much more structured. I think that everyone had the opportunity to establish the exact tone they wanted when rewriting the lyrics, which in turn establishes the genre to which the song should be categorized under. The assignment was to a specific audience, the members of the class, but the audience could be stretched as far to say anyone who doesn't know who you are.
I thought for a long time about what I should use for Critical Thinking, Reading, and Writing. I went back to week one and decided to use the Steamboat Mickey example. The fact that you had to pick something that was remixed applies to critical thinking. Everyone has their own opinions on the original of a certain something and their opinions on the remixed versions. When comparing the original to the remixed, you couldn't help but integrate your ideas with those of other people. This assignment had you comparing the original with the remixed and then analyzing what makes each outstanding, or not so outstanding. I believe that this assignment made you think, read, and write critically because it was your personal opinion and judgment on the topic, which makes everyone just a little more critical on the subject.
I definitely believe that the only option for process is the Unit Two assignment. This assignment let members of a group individually write their specific way but let the group come together to complete the paper. The assignment required much attention and numerous edits, revisions, and proof-reading. This assignment allowed diverse collaboration on a specific topic that resulted in a quite amazing paper. This assignment showed that relying on others isn't such a bad thing from time to time.
For knowledge of conventions, I decided to choose my Unit 1 assignment. I chose to use my Unit One assignment because one of the features of the assignment is the fact that we had to document our sources in a bibliography, which is a key point in Knowledge of Conventions. Also, there was a certain structure that had to be met in the assignment. Unit One, in my opinion, had to be a much formal writing style than what I would write in a blog on the wiki. With the formality of the writing came specific tones and writing techniques and mechanics that prevailed in the assingment. This is the reason Knowledge of Conventions fits well with my Unit One assignment.
