New York Times- H.I.V Vaccine Canceled

Looking on the web I came across an article in the New York Times discussing a pontential vaccine for H.I.V. that was canceled. On last Thursay plans for a human trial of a government-developed H.I.V. vaccine in the U.S. were canceled. This may have been a promising vaccine. Unfortunately, this was canceled because a top federal offical said that scientists realized that they did not know enough about how the vaccine and the immune system would interact. There are many other vaccines that are in stages of testing around the world, but this particular vaccine was in a new class and had high hopes for potentially stimulating the immune system in a different way. I think that they should have started the testing with just a few H.I.V. infected people. I t would have been a good experiment or a bad experiment, but taking that chance could have been a global achievement.
