“Sustainability” in science was my search for this topic. The results I found were interesting in that the 21st century has emerged greatly in sustainability science. It is a strong academic discipline that has emerged as of late that has set the foundation for previous generations in this world; which is the mere purpose of sustainability today. It was also fascinating to find that it brings a lot of scholar and practice to global and local perspectives on disciplines on natural and social sciences as well as engineering and medicine.

The most impressive aspect I found on this outlook on sustainability is that it isn’t applied as a research but rather a problem solving tactic. As the article states, “it serves the need for advancing both knowledge and action by creating a dynamic bridge between the two.”

As I was observing this wiki I realized the structure of the page resembled a possible action plan on how sustainability science would work. Observing the divisions applied:

·        Knowledge structuring

·        Coordination of data

·        Sustainability accounting

·        Multidisciplinary cooperation

The mere order as I observed resembled problem solving tactics taught in everyday science classes. Structuring of information and gather/organize data, observations and calculations to solve the problem are evaluated into an action plan towards the sustainability of science.
