Sustainable communities

Your group did a great job expanding upon James' (I think) unit 1 assignment. You guys took a very unique approach and it worked out well. Each person taking a different component to a sustainable community and elaborating on their ideas. It was a great way to structure and it made it very easy to read and understand. It allowed the reader to read one section and reflect before going back and clicking on the next person's section. I would also like to point out James' use of voice in his section. Your vocabulary in that section really propelled the reader into your groups paper and it was well written. One thing though, I think you guys needed to place your sources inside your writing, after you state a fact. Vicki did it in her section but the others just posted the links at the bottom. Personally, as a reader, if I can see where the fact came from right after I read it, it sticks to my mind more. Other than that, you guys wrote a great paper and it was very interesting and well composed.

Saving the World in Style

I'm not really into fashion or even reading about it, but I found myself extremely drawn into your paper. It was well written from the beginning, but you guys really grabbed me when you got into Wal-mart and target going green. When people first start to read your paper, liberal bias may come to mind because in the beginning it looks like that's what you're aiming at. Once you acknowledge the giant corporations, and not in these words, but as good guys, it completely flips the readers perspective on what you guys wrote. I was actually amazed by it. You had great facts that were immediately backed up by sources and it's something that could really appeal to anyone reading. You grab in soon-to-be and new parents with the diapers. You grab in the more conservative readers with the mentioning of even larger corporations going green. You did a great job of showing readers that there is really no reason not to go a little green with their fashion. I really thought it was wonderful.

Not to knock the other groups, but this paper was by far, the most in-depth and informative paper in the class. I might say it's almost too fact filled, but you can't knock the group for pushing their point that the continent is in shambles. They just constantly hit you with reason after reason of why this area of the world is is crumbling and there are so many problems that picking one to start with is hard. I think you guys really showed a lot of compassion while writing this and it's definitely a topic you guys showed you wanted to take the time to research. Fantastic structure and orginization. Great paper on all levels.
