College education for me has been trying to embrace many "genres" of teaching styles in higher education. The education styles used have changed not only the way I have gained knowledge out of the classroom. This semester at USF has been the first time for some of us to use the internet wiki to gain vast knowledge, in another way from the regular college professor. Through my first year in Purdue University i observed that the system was run on a traditional college learning infra-structure, in that students were listening and observing one professor per 300-400 students. This method proved to be an aggresive way for students(especially freshaman) to have to not only adapt to the professors way of learning but developing a way to learn for tthemselves  and to understand how to excel in higher education. I observed that the student had to depend completely on his/her self to find a way to not unly learn the subject topics but also to understand.

Learning in India as I currently am, is based on set ideas and memorising them and not having students generating their own ideas. There is a set curriculum in which the student has to comlpete in order to advance. Although knowledge is gained for this through this method, it feels every student is the same once graduated. The asian system is set on rankings. Being first in the class of 100 students mean that the student has not made any mistakes in memorising his textbook, while the 2nd ranked student may be learning through making ideas and gaining external knowledge to interpret it into the classroom.
