I find math very interesting and in my current major, finance, I will be using it most of my time. I used the keywords "mathematical sustainability" and I found a very interesting article that deals with educating individuals about sustainably while enhancing calculus (Math Lectures Look at Educating about Sustainability while Enhancing Calculus). I find that putting together sustainability and math is a good way to achieve what many teachers and schools want. While doing this, they are also trying to get individuals to think about larger systems and improve quantitative literacy. Math is a subject that many of us seem to stay away from. This brings me to another one of their objectives where they are trying to make calculus courses work in an interdisciplinary way to make the subject matter more relevant to non-math majors taking the course. This is an excellent way to get math to become a subject that we enjoy and look forward to. I find math as a subject that is necessary in our daily lives and incorporating it with sustainably will help boost the attention and motivation of many. Something that mainly grabbed my attention is how they are trying to make it to so it can relate to other classes. Having this combination creates more advantages and opportunities to an individual that usually can’t be gained by most classes. This is something I agree with 100% and I would encourage others to follow this as an example that can be applied to anything in life.
